We are just a couple of teenagers getting the word out about bullying. Here everyone is accepted no matter what race, sexual orientation, gender, etc. We don't like what bullying does to teens so we are here to speak up. Need help? We're here. Share a story? We're here. We are here to help everyone smile a little more and hurt a little less.

In a recent Glee episode, one of the main characters was outed and this hit home for me and it made me realize how hard things are for the lgbt youths.

My friend was outed yesterday by one of her own friends and now the girl who has been bullying her is hanging it over her head and she’s terrified that this news is going to spread to her family, but she told me that she’s kind of relieved that someone knows, now she doesn’t have to hide it anymore.

I know coming out is hard, I’ve talked to my friend previously about doing so and it’s not just the school that’s hard to come out to, it’s your family too.

I used to think people were very accepting to gay people because I honestly didn’t see anything different about the couples, but I’ve seen how homophobic our society is and it breaks my heart to know that there are people out there that are terrified of being themselves, of coming out, in fear of being harassed, kicked out, etc.

One of these days I want the world to be a safe place for youths to be able to come out and be themselves so they can be proud of who they are, but that won’t happen over night, so for now, just know that there are people that are accepting, there are people you come out to, we are some of those people.

Hold on kids, it’s going to get better. I guarantee it <3

I know a majority of you are in school this time of year and I truly hope that it is going well for you!

But if it isn’t, keep your head up because one of these days it will get better and if you ever need to vent or get something of your chest or just need someone to talk to, our ask box is only a click away
